The goal of the TopOp Award is to recognize THE Top Operator in each district annually who has been a moving force in the operations of their respective facilities and has encourage and spread the knowledge increasing operations in some way.
Each District awards one Collections, Distribution, Wastewater and Water Operator. This award is a career achievement!
The District-Level winners who are also members of GAWP’s national affiliates will form a pool of candidates for the Water Environment Federation’s William D. Hatfield Award and the American Water Works Association’s Operator’s Meritorious Service Award, both of which are presented at the GAWP’s Annual Conference (Note: National WEF and AWWA memberships are prerequisites for these two awards.).
Qualifications: Any certified operator who is an individual member of GAWP is eligible. Membership status will be verified right after the submission deadline. Submissions for non-member will not be considered. Employment at a GAWP Corporate/Utility member has no bearing with this award. Applicants may join as an individual member at time of application, however, if applicant is not a member by the submission deadline their nomination will be automatically disqualified.
