Urban Hydrology and the Georgia Blue Book

Join us on June 27, 2019, for a 7-hour course on Urban Hydrology and the Georgia Blue Book. This course is geared toward stormwater professionals with 2-10 years of experience in the stormwater management field. Participants should have some level of familiarity with the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual. CEUs to be provided. 

The session will be led by Andy Reese, a well-known stormwater expert. He delivered the first keynote addresses at both STORMCON and WEF Stormwater Congress; was the principle author of the original Georgia Bluebook and taught short courses on it across Georgia; has worked in all 50 states and several countries in all areas of comprehensive stormwater management; co-authored a comprehensive and best-selling textbook Municipal Stormwater Management; teaches national webinars including the popular “Voodoo Hydrology”; taught hydrology at Vanderbilt University; and performed hundreds of stormwater designs and master plans throughout the united States.  Andy has a BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, a MS in Hydraulic Engineering from Colorado State University, and a MSBA in Business from Boston University.

The cost for this course is $300 for GAWP members/ $350 for non-members.  Lunch will be provided to attendees.

10:45-12:00                     Rational Method & NRCS TR-55 Hydrologic Method

12:30 – 2:00                    US Geological Survey Peak Flow and Hydrograph Method & Water Quality and Peak Flow

2:00-2:15                         Break

2:15-4:15                         Water Balance Calculations & Downstream Hydrologic Assessment

4:15-4:30                         Conclusion and Discussion                


The Instructor will provide lectures with slides and a handout of the slides suitable for note taking. Examples illustrating concepts will be used in the lectures and several walk through exercises with student input will be done.                                                  


Need to transfer a registration to another person?

Only employees of GAWP Corporate & Utility Members will be permitted to request invoicing. All cancellations must be received in writing on company letterhead two weeks prior to the date of the class. After the two week deadline, you are no longer eligible for refunds but substitutions are welcome. No refunds for those who register and fail to attend.
