GAWP Leadership Academy Mission Statement

It is the mission of the GAWP Leadership Academy to prepare our leaders to build relationships, and to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to effect change within our organizations and the water industry as a whole. To keep pace with the ever changing profession, the Academy provides participants the opportunity to improve leadership skills and to test them in real life situations.

GAWP Leadership Academy Scholarship

Utility Members of GAWP: If you serve less than 10,000 customers your employees are eligible to apply for a scholarship to the Leadership Academy!

Scholarship Applicants pay a reduced rate of $250 (from the regular $1,500 registration fee) after they are accepted to a class. Scholarship Applicants are not guaranteed a spot in the Leadership Academy as availability for this type of registration is very limited.



2019 Dates for the Level 1 Leadership Academy

Class 1 will be held at GAWP Headquarters and Class 2 will be held at Henry County Water Authority. Day 6 will be held on the same day for both classes at GAWP Headquarters.

Day 1:  Understanding Your Workstyle Utilizing the DiSC Personality Assessment

       Classes 1 & 2:  Facilitated by Pat Heinzerling, Crafting Leaders

Day 2: Leadership Skills
Class 1: Facilitated by Brian Skeens, Jacobs, and Gil Shearouse, DDCWSA
       Class 2: Facilitated by John Sawyer, City of Savannah, and Mike Thomas, GAWP

Day 3: Professional Perspectives - This session is from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and includes lunch.
