- Your License
GAWP will send out a reminder to all Certified Testers as your expiration date approaches. You will receive a letter 6 – 12 weeks in advance as long as your mailing address is up-to-date in our database. If you need to update your contact information please call GAWP’s office (770) 618-8690 or email Susana Lanier.
In order to renew your Backflow license, please be sure to carefully read the re-certification requirements below. Exceptions cannot be made for those that fail to renew their certification properly. If your Certification is ABPA, ASSE or TREEO please be sure to follow the Re-Certification (Renewal) Process of that certification type.
**Effective January 1, 2014 all backflow certified testers will be required to submit a copy of the code of ethics form along with their renewal form. Failure to submit this form with your renewal form will result in delayed processing of your backflow license renewal. The form may be found on the second page of the PDF Renewal Form below.
Each Certified Backflow Tester is required to obtain six (6) contact hours of Backflow Continuing Education during the 3 years your certification is active. See the list of Training Providers to find a Recertification Course, or watch the Backflow Page on this website for upcoming workshops presented by GAWP. It is not required that your continuing education be from one of the Training Providers listed. Any six (6) hours of Backflow-specific training will be accepted, but you must obtain Proof of Attendance that includes: course name, course date, course length and trainer. Please note that Confined Space Entry is not considered Backflow specific and will not be accepted for re-certification.
You are encouraged to not wait until the last few months to get your training. Classes do fill up quickly.
