About Us/Our Mission

The Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) is a not-for-profit professional Association founded in 1932 and has grown into a membership of well over 5,000 operators, owners, contractors, manufacturers' representatives, engineers, elected officials, industry representatives and others concerned with Georgia's water resources. GAWP is dedicated to exceptional professional education, dissemination of sound technical principles and scientific information, increased public understanding, and promotion of valid public laws and programs. The Georgia Association of Water Professionals has created an outreach program called H2Opportunity. The purpose of the H2Opportunity Program is to provide students in the state of Georgia with a renewed understanding of water issues within our state and highlight the benefits of a job in the water industry. There are many positive aspects to a career in the water industry such as job availability, job stability, health care and retirement benefits.
