IMPORTANT EXAM INFORMATION
The
exam will begin promptly at the scheduled time, and you will need a photo ID,
two No. 2 pencils and an eraser, your social security number, and a calculator
(optional). A map and/or directions to
the test site are enclosed.
This is
not an open-book exam, and you should be prepared to take the written as well
as the performance portion of the exam on this date. The performance portion will consist of three
(3) procedures: the Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly; the Double Check Valve
Assembly; and the Pressure Vacuum Breaker.
The written portion of the exam will be given first which consists of
100 multiple- choice questions. There is
a maximum of three (3) hours to complete this portion of the exam. The exam will be graded immediately, and if
you pass, you will move on to the performance (hands-on) portion of the
exam. The proctor will also be able to
let you know if you passed the performance portion of the exam upon your
completion. If you pass both portions,
please allow 3-4 weeks to process your certificate and wallet card. These will be mailed to you by GAWP.
Each
tester is responsible to bring their own test equipment for the
examination. Required equipment includes
a test kit, site tubes, bleed valve assemblies, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. While some of the test sites may have this
equipment available for use during the exam, it is not the responsibility of
the proctoring staff to provide these items.
If
you fail the written portion of the exam, you may not take the performance
portion at this time. If you pass the
written portion but fail the performance portion, you may re-take the
performance portion within ninety (90) days to complete the exam. You must follow the same procedure of
registering for a scheduled exam, and pay the full exam fee.

be aware that the exam being given on the date indicated above is for the Georgia
