President Bill Zieburtz, along with our incoming President
John Saywer, will lead our annual “Strategic Planning Meeting.” We
reserved the historic Reynold’s Mansion on Sapelo Island for two nights,
arriving Monday, April 11 and departing Wednesday, April 13. We intend to
take full advantage of the unique character of the Island and the Mansion, to
facilitate an extended, in-depth and candid discussion of the future of the
water profession in Georgia and the future direction of GAWP.
We had a similar meeting on Sapelo Island last year, and
found it to be an ideal format for strategic conversations, and discussion of
the direction of GAWP.

This small group of GAWP leaders was specifically selected
to help us look forward, and consider where we need to be heading.
If you’ve never been to Sapelo Island, you are in for a
special treat. We will spend much of our time in conversation about GAWP,
while enjoying the unique environment and history of the Island and the
Reynolds Mansion. You will also have time to yourself to explore and
reflect. I will send more specifics on the accommodations and activities
we can expect, as we firm up our agenda.
The financial portion of this message is: the
accommodation costs per person are $160/night ($320 total) plus $15 for the
ferry to and from the Island. If you can cover these cost, GAWP can pick
up the extras for meals and snacks. If you cannot cover these costs,
please let me know and we’ll work something out with you. We just want
