Session Montiors Committee

The AWWA Local Host Session Monitors Committee is where we will need the largest number of volunteers. Individuals will be responsible for assisting in the daily conduct of the professional program by counting attendees, checking badges, and other miscellaneous assignments. This role is not the same as the session moderator – you will not be asked to introduce speakers or facilitate the session. All volunteers must attend an orientation meeting in the morning of the day they are scheduled to serve as a monitor. Specific roles include:

  • Attending an orientation meeting the day of volunteer assignment
  • Arriving at speaker ready room at least 40 minutes prior to the start of the session to pick up session materials
  • Assisting session moderators with any needs during the session
  • Becoming familiar with the location and operation of light switches
  • Distributing speaker handouts to session attendees
  • Scanning attendee badges
  • Recording attendance for the session
  • Collecting evaluation forms from attendees after the session
